The 2019 Ford Edge: Ford Co-Pilot360™ Technology| Edge | Ford

Ford Edge team member Cristina Aquino tells us about the Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology™ in the new 2019 Ford Edge. This technology can help you stay on track with driver-assist technologies to potentially avoid collisions using BLIS(r) (Blind Spot Information System)* with Cross-Traffic Alert**.

*Available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) uses radar located in the rear of the vehicle to identify a vehicle entering the blind spot and alerts the driver with an indicator light in the sideview mirror. Cross-traffic alert also uses radar to watch for traffic behind when slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway. If it detects a vehicle approaching from the side, it sends an audible warning, an indicator light flashes in the side-view mirror, and an alert in the message center.

**The Lane Keeping System can warn the driver if it detects the vehicle leaving its lane without the turn signal activated. The Lane Keeping System consists of two components, the Lane Keeping Alert and the Lane Keeping Aid.

†This available feature can detect a potential collision with pedestrians and vehicles ahead. It’s designed to help reduce the severity of and, in some cases, eliminate frontal collisions altogether. If the system’s sensors detect a potential collision with a car or pedestrian ahead, a warning flashes and an alert sound. If the driver’s response is not sufficient, the system can automatically apply the brakes to help prevent or potentially reduce the severity of a frontal collision.
