NEW YORK CITY, May 9, 2016 –
Ford Motor Company is joining with Robin Hood’s “Night for NYC” in the
fight against poverty by donating a Ford Transit Mobile Food Pantry van
to New York Common Pantry.
The Transit van will allow New York Common Pantry to expand Nourish, a Commodity Supplemental Food Program funded by the New York State Department of Health and U.S. Department of Agriculture, which delivers food to low income senior citizens. The Transit’s size and flexibility will enable the agency to reach neighborhoods not accessible by larger delivery vehicles.

Ford Mobile Food Pantries are a national network of more than 50 Transit vans that make it easier for food banks to deliver more meals to more places. In addition to New York Common Pantry, Ford has donated vans to God’s Love We Deliver and the Hispanic Federation in New York City.
